Compact Ball Valve ZEROVAL-KC
The compact ball valve with aseptic flange contour to DIN 11864/2 (groove and flange). Drops directly into existing aseptic piping — without dismounting neighbouring components. Fully cavity-free, piggable, CIP/SIP-capable.
Aseptic flange contour machined into the body.
On the ZEROVAL-KC the aseptic flange contour to DIN 11864/2 (groove and flange) is machined directly into the valve body. It is the only design that drops seamlessly between two existing aseptic flanges — no adapter, no extra sealing surfaces, no dead space.
The aseptic lip seal sits protected inside the groove, fully isolated from the product space. That makes the joint the most hygienically secure connection used in pharma and biotech process plants.
Pharma hygiene without compromise.
The ZEROVAL-KC compact ball valve combines the small face-to-face of an inline valve with the hygienic security of an aseptic connection — a baseline that is non-negotiable in pharma, biotech and sterile food production.
- DIN 11864/2 aseptic flange — groove and flange machined directly into the valve body, the most hygienic joint available.
- Drop-in for aseptic piping — no adapter, no rebuilding of neighbouring components.
- Fully cavity-free — no gaps, no dead space, no bacterial pockets at the connection or the PTFE seat.
- Piggable — full unrestricted bore, compatible with pigging systems.
- CIP/SIP-capable — cleanable and steam-sterilisable in place.
- Compact face-to-face — fits the install space of an ordinary pipe section.
- FDA-compliant seals — PTFE seat and aseptic lip seals for direct product contact.
- Optional jacket heating — for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and cosmetic media.

Where aseptic is non-negotiable.
Pharma & biotech
Sterile processes: WFI, purified water, API solutions, fermenter manifolds. DIN 11864/2 is the industry baseline here — the ZEROVAL-KC aseptic ball valve drops straight into existing aseptic skids.
Cosmetics
High-end creams, pastes and emulsions with sensitive actives. The cavity-free build prevents product residues — critical for product safety and consistent batch quality.
Top-tier hygienic food
Aseptic filling, infant nutrition, extended-shelf-life products without preservatives. Wherever a standard hygienic joint is no longer enough.
Retrofit in aseptic plants
Drop-in retrofit for existing DIN 11864/2 piping — no welding, no dismounting of adjacent components. The compact face-to-face fits the install length of a regular pipe section.
Material options.
Standard build in 1.4404 stainless steel with FDA-compliant PTFE seat and aseptic lip seal. Special alloys and electropolished surfaces for top-tier pharma requirements available on request.
- Body: stainless steel 1.4404 / AISI 316L (standard)
- Special alloys: 1.4571, duplex 1.4462 — on request
- Seat: PTFE, FDA-compliant (standard)
- Aseptic seal: EPDM or FKM, FDA-compliant, in the flange contour
- Surface finish: internal Ra ≤ 0.8 µm (standard); electropolished Ra ≤ 0.4 µm on request
- Stem seal: O-ring FKM or EPDM, FDA-compliant
Configure to suit.
Jacket heating
Double-jacket heating for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and cosmetic media.
Pneumatic actuator
Double- or single-acting rack-and-pinion actuators incl. position indicator and solenoid.
Electropolished finish
Internal surface Ra ≤ 0.4 µm — for top-tier pharma and biotech requirements.
Position feedback
Inductive limit switches or positioners to tie into the plant control system.
Compact ball valve questions.
What sets an aseptic ball valve apart from a regular hygienic ball valve?
An aseptic ball valve to DIN 11864 has a special flange contour (groove and flange) with a circumferential lip seal. The seal sits cavity-free inside the flange joint itself — no gap, no cross-contamination, no bacterial pockets. Aseptic connections are the most hygienically secure joint in pharma and biotech process plants.
What does DIN 11864/2 mean?
DIN 11864/2 is the standard for aseptic flanged connections in food, pharma and biotech. It defines a groove-and-flange contour that holds an aseptic lip seal. The ZEROVAL-KC carries this contour directly on its body and therefore drops into DIN 11864/2 aseptic piping with no adapter.
Can the ZEROVAL-KC be retrofitted into an existing aseptic skid?
Yes. The compact ball valve sits directly between two existing DIN 11864/2 aseptic flanges — without dismounting any neighbouring piping components. The compact face-to-face is sized to occupy the install space of an ordinary pipe section.
What operating pressure does it handle?
Maximum operating pressure is 10 bar — matched to the typical pressure range in pharmaceutical, biotech and sterile food processes.
Is the compact ball valve suitable for CIP and SIP cleaning?
Yes. The ZEROVAL-KC is fully CIP/SIP-capable: cavity-free construction, FDA-compliant PTFE seat, and temperature-resistant aseptic seals. Cleaning and steam sterilisation are performed in place.
