Three-Way Ball Valve ZEROVAL-K3H
Hygienic, dead-space-free three-way ball valve with T-port for reliable diverting, mixing and distribution of media in food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. TA-Luft certified, utility-model protected — optionally with a pig bar for pigging lines.
Three connections — zero dead space.
The ZEROVAL-K3H carries the dead-space-free seat concept of the ZEROVAL family into multi-port territory. The T-port connects two of the three connections in every position — without compromising hygiene or cleanability.
Typical applications: CIP/SIP switching, product separation, distribution between tanks or lines, sampling. For pigging lines we also offer the K3H with a special pig bar (T-ball).
Diverting and distribution at the highest hygienic level.
The ZEROVAL-K3H replaces multiple individual valves with one dead-space-free component — compact, certified and equipped with every option required in hygienic process technology.
- Dead-space-free in every position — the ZEROVAL seat concept eliminates dead space even in multi-port geometry.
- TA-Luft certified — low-emission for chemical and pharmaceutical applications.
- Utility-model protection — patent-protected seat concept, technologically distinct.
- T-port for diverting & distribution — always connects two of the three connections, ideal for CIP/SIP switching.
- Optional: pig bar (T-ball) — fully piggable, deployable as a pig diverter in pigging lines.
- DN 15 to DN 150 — standard range DN 15–DN 100, larger sizes on request.
- FDA-compliant seals — PTFE and modified PTFE per FDA and EC 1935/2004.
- Manual or pneumatic — lever, handwheel or quarter-turn actuator. Optional trace heating and limit-switch feedback.
Pig-bar version — the K3H as a pig diverter.
For pigging lines with a distribution requirement we supply the ZEROVAL-K3H with a special pig bar (T-ball). The pig passes through the valve unobstructed — while the three-way switching remains fully available.
Typical use: piggable 3-way ball valve in CIP-capable pigging systems, product changeovers without flushing losses, distribution to multiple filling stations.
Pig-diverter properties
- Pig passes through in defined position
- Fully dead-space-free and CIP capable
- Distribution function across two lines
- Standard connections (flange, weld, aseptic)
- Manual or pneumatic actuation

Where the three-way ball valve fits.
CIP/SIP switching
Switch between product and cleaning media at a single point — without bypass, without extra piping.
Product separation & distribution
Distribute media between tanks or product lines — dead-space-free and cleanable in every switching position.
Sampling
Hygienic sampling from running processes — without contamination, without downtime.
Pigging lines
With pig-bar version, deployable as a pig diverter in CIP-capable pigging systems with distribution duty.
Three-way ball valve answers.
What is a three-way ball valve?
A three-way ball valve is a multi-port valve with three connections. A T-shaped bore inside the ball connects, separates or diverts two of the three flow paths. With a 90° turn the operator switches the medium between connections — typical applications include diverting, mixing and CIP/SIP switching.
What is the T-port used for?
Unlike an L-port, a T-port always connects two of the three connections. Depending on position the valve diverts, mixes or distributes media. T-port is the standard configuration for CIP/SIP switching, product separation and sampling in hygienic process technology.
Can the ZEROVAL-K3H be used in pigging lines?
Yes — as a special version with a pig bar (T-ball), the ZEROVAL-K3H is piggable. This variant is suitable as a pig diverter and for distribution functions in pigging lines, where the pig must pass through the valve in addition to the multi-port switching.
Is the three-way ball valve TA-Luft certified?
Yes. The ZEROVAL-K3H is TA-Luft compliant and — like the entire ZEROVAL seat concept — protected by a utility model. It therefore meets the requirements for low-emission valves in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
What actuators are available?
The ZEROVAL-K3H is available with manual operation (lever or handwheel) and with pneumatic quarter-turn actuators in single or double-acting configuration. Positioners, limit switches and trace heating are available as options.
