Wafer Ball Valve ZEROVAL-WF
The shortest pattern in the ZEROVAL line: a hygienic wafer-type ball valve clamped between existing pipe flanges. Fully cavity-free, piggable and CIP/SIP-capable — the right choice for skid-mounted plants, modular systems and any layout where face-to-face length matters.
Minimum footprint. Maximum hygiene.
The wafer ball valve ZEROVAL-WF clamps directly between two existing DIN flanges. The result: shorter face-to-face dimensions, less weight and lower installation cost — without compromising on hygienic design.
- Shortest face-to-face dimension — significantly reduced installation length and weight compared to conventional flanged ball valves.
- Fully cavity-free — no product traps, no dead legs, no cross-contamination risk.
- Piggable — full-bore design compatible with pigging systems for low-residue product change-overs.
- CIP/SIP-capable — clean-in-place and steam-in-place sterilisation in the installed state.
- Drop-in retrofit — installs between existing DIN PN 16 mating flanges without pipe rework.
- Optional heating jacket — for temperature-critical media such as chocolate, waxes or crystallising solutions.
- Manual or pneumatic actuation — hand lever or quarter-turn pneumatic actuator with position indication.
- FDA-compliant seals — PTFE seat suitable for direct contact with food, pharma and cosmetic media.

A note on pressure: The "PN 16" designation that may appear on the data sheet refers exclusively to the available flange interface (for DIN PN 16 mating flanges) — not to the working pressure of the valve. Maximum working pressure of the ZEROVAL-WF is 10 bar.
Wherever space is tight and hygiene is non-negotiable.
Skids & modular plants
Every centimetre matters on a skid. The wafer ball valve saves valuable real estate on the frame and reduces total weight — critical for shipping and lifting modules into place.
Food & beverage
Juice, dairy, chocolate and syrup lines — wherever CIP cleaning is the standard and dead legs would mean product loss or cross-contamination.
Pharmaceutical & biotech
A hygienic wafer valve for WFI, solvent and active-ingredient lines. FDA-compliant PTFE seat, SIP-sterilisable in-line.
Cosmetics & chemical
Creams, emulsions, surfactants and reactive media. With the optional heating jacket, also suitable for high-viscosity or crystallising solutions.
Material options.
Standard execution in stainless steel 1.4404 with FDA-compliant PTFE. For aggressive media or special requirements we supply premium alloys on request.
- Body: Stainless steel 1.4404 / AISI 316L (standard)
- Special alloys: 1.4571, Duplex 1.4462, Hastelloy — on request
- Seat: PTFE, FDA-compliant (standard)
- Seat options: modified PTFE (carbon-filled) for higher service life
- Surface finish: internal Ra ≤ 0.8 µm (standard); electropolished on request
- Stem seal: O-ring FKM or EPDM, FDA-compliant
Configured to your process.
Heating jacket
Double-jacket heating for temperature-critical media. Water, steam or thermal-oil supply.
Pneumatic actuator
Double- or single-acting quarter-turn actuators incl. position indicator and solenoid valve.
Flush port
Additional cleaning port for targeted flushing — relevant for plants with frequent product change-over.
Position feedback
Inductive limit switches or positioners for integration with the plant control system.
About the wafer ball valve.
What is a wafer ball valve?
A wafer ball valve is a short-pattern valve clamped directly between two existing pipeline flanges, without flanges of its own. The result is a very short face-to-face dimension and low weight — ideal for skid-mounted plants and tight installations.
What is the working pressure of the ZEROVAL-WF?
Maximum working pressure is 10 bar. The "PN 16" designation that may appear in the data sheet refers exclusively to the available flange interface (for DIN PN 16 mating flanges) — not to the pressure rating of the valve itself.
Is the wafer ball valve piggable?
Yes. The ZEROVAL-WF is full-bore with no cavities and is compatible with pigging systems — making it a good fit for plants with frequent product change-overs and pig cleaning.
Which materials and seals are used?
Standard body material is stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L). Seat and seals are FDA-compliant PTFE or modified PTFE. Special materials such as Duplex 1.4462 or Hastelloy are available on request.
Can the ZEROVAL-WF be heated?
Yes. A heating jacket is available as an option for temperature-critical media such as chocolate, waxes or crystallising solutions. Heating medium can be water, steam or thermal oil.
